CLUB CHARTER
Running a successful football club involves a partnership between players, parents/guardians and club representatives, with each having a clear understanding of their roles. In recognition of this fact the following charter for each element has been produced for each group.
Membership of Bourne Town JFC automatically infers each party will abide by the charter.
Players Charter
Players shall:
Listen to and follow the instructions of team managers and coaches at all times.
Adhere to the fact that the managers decision is final
Always play fair
Attempt to beat opponents only by skill and endeavour.
Maintain self-control and never retaliate
Learn and observe the laws of Association football
Obey the referee and their assistants without question
Give the ball to the opponents promptly at throw-ins, free-kicks etc
Try not to be over zealous when celebrating goals
Accept victory modestly and defeat graciously
Attend training regularly and advise the team manager or coach if unavailable for training or matches at the earliest opportunity, and carry out stretching exercises at home and before other sporting activities
Parents/Guardians Charter
Parents and Guardians shall:
Ensure that club subscriptions are paid when due
Ensure that their player/s arrive on time for training and matches, and are collected promptly
Assist the team manager or coach with kit-washing, transport, administration and running the line etc
Adhere to the fact that the managers decision is final
Entry to the changing rooms is not allowed please abide by the manager or officials requests as specified and then under certain provisions and under exceptional circumstances only
Remember to stand back from the touch lines when cheering the team on
NEVER ATTEMPT TO COACH THE TEAMS FROM THE TOUCHLINE unless you are a member of the coaching staff
Be hospitable to opposing teams, their supporters and officials, in particular the referee and linesman
Not use any foul, racial or abusive language
Refrain from consuming alcohol whilst watching games
Pay any fines imposed on the player promptly
Advise the team manager if the child is undertaking any sporting activity on match days
Support the club in its social and fund raising activities
Team Managers and Coaches Charter
The Team Manager and Coach shall:
At the request of the club, attend an FA Junior Team Managers Coaching course and undertake appropriate First Aid training
Attend all scheduled committee meetings, if unable to attend endeavour to make arrangements for a representative to attend or to send apologies
Arrive in good time before training sessions and matches
Ensure kit, footballs, nets, corner flags and appropriate First Aid kit is available for their team, and be responsible for club equipment in their possession
Be responsible for the safety and well being of their players at all times, ensuring children are given a full warm-up before and after matches and training
Provide the club secretary with a list of all registered players and all matters requested by the said person before the start of the season
Be responsible for the behaviour of their team and supporters, and maintain discipline at all games, ensure the opposing players, supporters and officials are welcomed appropriately
Adhere to the rules and regulations of the league within which the team plays
Ensure that training times are adhered to
Provide information for parents/guardians travelling to away matches
Not smoke or consume alcohol whilst in charge of the team, during training or matches, and will not act in any way, on or off the field, that would bring the club into disrepute
Liase with other clubs and referees regarding all county matches, cup or otherwise within the required time scales as laid down by the relevant rules of competitions
Advise the secretary of circumstances of fines incurred by the team or players, ensuring that players pay any fines imposed upon them promptly
