Blues ran riot against a woeful Boston side. The league’s bottom side could only field 6 players, but Bourne showed no mercy, scoring six goals in each half.
Josh Lavery opened the scoring- tapping in after Josh Kaufman had seen his shot rebound off the keeper. Lavery and Brad Danahar saw several efforts go close before Danahar made it two, again after some constructive wing play by Kaufman. Blues could have had a hatful with Danahar, Lavery, Kaufman, Wakefield and Robinson all going close, but it was Danahar who made it three after a goalmouth scramble. Danahar than provided the assist for Lavery to make it four. Goal of the half was supplied by Lavery with a cracking shot for his hat-trick before Danahar, not to be out-done also sealed his hat-trick just before the break.
Coach Jonny Kaufman gave some of his second string players a run out in the second half. Archie Dawson and Isaac Jones replaced Robinson and Kaufman. Nathaniel Wakefield resumed the battering with a great shot into the top corner for Bourne’s seventh, then Lavery with a good solo effort made it eight. Danahar responded by hitting the bar, then got his fourth with a stunning shot. Ben Shilling and Connor Harris then came on for their share of the action, but Lavery continued unabated scoring two more for a stunning double hat-trick. Jones finished off the scoring after some good work by Dawson. Blues lone defender Luke Chambers and keeper Rhys Dickinson will not have an easier Saturday than this one!
