TEAM OF THE WEEK: The Under 14B's. We welcome Dave Smith to the coaching staff this season after leaving Ryhall. He has had to pull out all the stops to put together a squad in the nick of time to fulfil their first fixture. They then go out and win 8-3 an outstanding achievement. Dave was asked how he managed to get his squad together and if he would accept the honour of being our Team of the Week. Dave replied: 'We would be honoured to be team of the week. We have got players in from Spalding, Boston, Donnington, Thurlby, Stamford and of course Bourne. We have been training really hard over the last few weeks. The discipline and attitude of the boys is first class and of course they have got the top trainer in the area (me), but seriously we are going to make one hell of a team. Can I personally thank Ian Sismey for all the work he has done and Andy Fuller for answering all my questions. Thank you very much.' Dave Smith

Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
