Bourne Town Juniors under 7's entered the Northborough football tournament last Saturday. Bournes first game was against Northborough 'A' and the boys got their first win under their belts with goals from Benjamin Woodward and Jack Hinks. Game 2 was against one of the favourites Woodstone Dynamo and Bourne battled well with strong performances by Archie Dawson and Thomas Hannant in midfield eventually losing 2 - 1 with Ben Moss scoring for Bourne. Games 3 and 4 saw Bourne securing back to back 2 - 0 wins against Northborough 'B' and Eye respectively with Jack Dodd scoring twice in both games.Match 5 was against a tough Abbey side and with some great performances by Tom Guerney up front and Joshua Lavery in defence Bourne battled well but lost 2 - 0. Match 6 pitted Bourne against Crowland A and all the boys played excellently winning 1 - 0 with Jack Dodd scoring again which meant Bourne finished a very creditable 3rd in the group missing out on second spot by one point.

Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
